Megadeth to perform again in Argentina

On April 28, at Luna Park Stadium, the American heavy metal band Megadeth returns to perform in Argentina, with their new album “Endgame.”

Tickets to see Dave Mustaine and his entourage will cost from 120 pesos and up. They will go on sale on April 8 at Luna Park, located on the Corrientes Avenue and Bouchard Street. But it also can be purchased through Ticket Portal, by calling 011-5353-0606.

Economy Minister at the Senate defends use of Central Bank reserves

Economy Minister Amado Boudou is speaking before a Senate committee to justify use of the central bank reserves to repay debt, among other issues.

Boudou  defended the use of reserves at the time that  ruled out an adjustment.

“The chances are lowering pension funding, curbing public works, borrowing at high rates or using excess reserves. We will not adjust in any way,” he said.

The minister explained the 2006 payment in advance of all debt with the IMF, “this fact was important from an economic point of view but had a strong political effect. At that time, 30% of total reserves of the BCRA were used or 100% of freely available reserves. It was the maximum possible utilization of the reserves of free access.

Falklands oil: Exploration disappointing

The CNN reported that shares in a British company drilling for oil off the Falkand islands halved Monday, after it revealed the existing supply may not be commercially viable.

Shares in other companies operating off the Falklands also fell amid fears that the region’s reserves may disappoint.

Desire Petroleum informed that “oil may be present in thin intervals but that reservoir quality is poor.”

The company will release the final results of its 30-day test drilling operation on Wednesday. According to company sources it may have to drill deeper to find greater quantities of oil.

Desire had estimated that the North Falkland Basin could contain 3.5 billion barrels of oil as well as significant gas reserves.

Queer Tango Marathon started in Buenos Aires

A gay tango marathon started last night in various venues in the city. An uninterrupted 42 hours of tango is taking place until tomorrow along with lectures and discussions on gender, marriage law and sexual identity, by specialists.

Queer Tango Marathon is free and it aims at broadening tango perspectives. The event also offers classes, art exhibitions, lectures and discussions sponsored by the National Institute Against Discrimination (INADI), national ministries of Justice and Culture of Buenos Aires and Instituto Universitario Nacional de Arte (IUNA), among others.
