Hugo Moyano went out to put some ice on the polemic he sparked with the harsh words he had yesterday for the inflation hitting the country.
“In a country that is growing, inflation is not bad,” said this morning in line with Economy Minister Amado Boudou.
The Secretary General of the CGT had said yesterday that inflation is “a reality which is felt every day,” contradicting Boudou, who had talked of “some pressure on prices” which he attributed to the growth of the economy.
“I said there was a little inflation. The INDEC said, it should be no surprise to anyone. I do not know how much. When you take inflation in generalized products it may be higher,” said this morning Moyano, trying to tone down his statements.
“We have never denied that there is inflation. In a growing country inflation is not bad. Here there were no mass layoffs, like in Europe. In times of inflation, when it is controlled, it is better than the loss of jobs”, the union leader continued.
All this happens while Moyano is negotiating wage increases, which are necessarily linked to the inflation rate.
