The Senate President and Vice President of the Nation, Julio Cobos, ordered, yesterday, to “deduct a 20% from the wages of those senators who miss the regular meeting next Wednesday and prevent the functioning of the Upper House”.

The warning is for the 36 kirchnerist senators and allies who caused the failure of last Wednesday’s meeting. Everyone will be “called through a statement that will be published in two Capital Federal newspapers on Monday or Tuesday next week”.

Kirchnerist sources said they rejected any disciplinary action and that they will contest it administratively, without ruling out any other further action before the courts.

Julio Cobos informed the measure minutes before taking the executive. He is replacing Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner as she travelled to the United States and José Pampuro will be in charge of the Senate as president pro tem.

The Vice President President handed the document with his decision to parliamentary secretaries Juan Estrada, and administrative Antonio Rins.

The call on the discount to absent senators was decided by the 36 opposition senators who were present at the meeting last Wednesday.
